Absolution
This poem was published in 2018 by Scalawag. The poem is part of their “This Work Will Take Dancing” series. The series highlights the the writing of Latine writers in the South. The poem “Absolution” is about loss of faith and the cynicism that follows.
Through journalism and storytelling, Scalawag works in solidarity with oppressed communities in the South. They seek to disrupt and shift the narratives that keep power and wealth in the hands of the few. They pursue a more liberated South.
